I have changed account names... check it out my new name is SigSolace
So i haven't been on this "livejournal" thing in a long long time. Probably because i've been busy with other things, trying to figure out what i'm going to do with my life. You ever heard that saying, "A man went looking for America and couldn't find it anywhere."
I've found that, and maybe i'm just not trying hard enough, that its really really hard to find a decent reliable person these days. In fact, i seem to be the only reliable person i know. I do whats expected of me, and try to keep everyone happy, but the more i try the more i get into that funk between your shoes. Scientists call it bromodrosis, but us regular folks call it indifference. Not many people i've found want to break out of that normal routine they have installed in their minds, and open up to new ideas.
When I went down to rock hill a while back, i got to see a couple of my good friends, Justin, Rob, Jim, and of course Andrew. Everyone was quite hospitipal (msp?) and I had a good time. That was almost a month ago. Theres a point to this, i promise. When i was down i met up with Marvin, good old marvin. marvin gardens. Marvin graduated a while back and is having quite a hard time finding a job in the field of his study. I found myself that alot of graduates face the same problem. What can someone do with a Marine Biology degree anyways?
So, the point to that was simply this, alot of my friends, alot of people are going to graduate college and get shit jobs in a field they don't even like only because they can't get a job in the field that they want. Of course this doesn't include nursing majors, (i think i'm still one of those, but USCS doesn't think so), whose specialized study keeps them in the field of their dreams. Study for nursing, be a nurse. Study for Computer Science, be a waitress at Denny's. So, do you go on and lament what you missed, the opportunity lost and money spent on an education that's gotten you no where, or do you pick yourself up and become a Car Salesman?
Sure. Car Sales isn't exactly what everyone wants to do when they grow up. Take you back to Kindergarden: "What do you wanna be when you grow up?" I replied, "I don't know."
Everyone else wanted to be a vet, a fire fighter some bullshit like that. I was always undecided, or as the catholics say, a deviant.
I know I love video games, and I know I like fantasy, infact i find it better than reality. (reality sucks, love doesn't fall into your lap in real life, there isn't a girl for every boy, yadda yadda.) So what does this mean? Should I become a writer or a video game developer, or what?
I've decided that i'm going to finish my book. Its fantasy of course, swords and magic, all that jazz. Then i'm going to make a video game franchise based off my mental exploits which were used to pass time behind the counter at frankies fun park. Why serve hot dogs when you can save the fair damsel and slay the dragon with some nacho tongs?
So my question for you all is, what are you going to do when life throws you a fast ball, a curve ball, even a knuckle sandwich? Life has its share of mixing things up like Brian Transeau, so what are you going to do to meet that challenge. Will you work at the burger joint, content with a simple life of barely making ends meet?
There is nothing wrong with a simple life, but is it right for you?
I know for a fact that I need to get out of this hole and fast or my life is going to kill me. Thats ironical, life kills.
Confused and sick, I need some sleep, but I have classes that don't matter tommarrow, perhaps i'll go to them.
Current Music: a train passing by
Turns out, that the professor in Organic Chemsitry thinks i should be a peer tutor. So I signed up for it. I've helped alot of people so far, and it turns out, i have an excellent grasp of the material. I never thought in my wildest dreams that i'd make A's in chemistry... that goes to show you, that its all about your teacher, and her/his teaching methods. I went from a D in chemistry in highschool to an A in organic... Its just wierd. I suppose concepts are much easier for me to grasp when they don't involve as much complicated math structures.
I'll be going to raleigh for spring break, lucky me. I finally will be workin for "cash".

I recently posted this as a rebuttle in the conservative forum of sorts... see what you think think about it.
In america we have the freedom of religion, and if you haven't noticed, people that AREN'T Christian get more religious rights when discussing history in schools these days than people who are. Take it from someone who works in the school system. (my mom does.)
And whether you like it or not, the government we all have come to love/hate is founded on christianity. It being the majority religion. If you want to have a different religion then you have to cope with it. No one is going to pursecute(msp) you if you do.
On a side note, I don't see anyone going over to any other country and telling them they can't have their culture or religion discussed as a part of history. Here in america we don't stone you in the street if you have a difference of opinion.
Here in AMERICA, we offer you the choice, but lately the choice to discuss what we want to discuss based upon our own culture and background has been limited to anything non-christian.
just my 2 and 1/2 cents.

Well my life has had a significant change for the better. There were alot of mis-scorings on my scantron on my first physiology exam, so when the grade was changed I ended up with an A|
I guess my hard work paid off, I'll get my chemistry 102 grade today, lets hope that it too, is an A.

In regards to an article wrote by some dick at some piece of shit paper, that you can acess by this URL or whatever...|
Excuse me, i wrote this in a hurry, i have work in 15 minutes.
Have you ever played a video game yourself? Or have you just watched your children play them. I'm a long time gamer, and i've never had the urge to kill anyone. I've played games as violent and Grand Theft Auto, and games as light as mario cart. People kill people, don't point the finger at video games.
Perhaps a Columbine example would touch base. School systems today are what make children kill one another. The mind games kids play today with their peers in middle school, as well as in high school are enough to drive someone into outcast social groups and eventually into social exile from all peers. This isn't the school system you grew up in. Kids bring guns to school and kill other kids now-a-days, all because of social ostracization; for respect, for alot of things. In high school, all you have are your friends, and when there all gone, what is worth living for. Children have a hard time seeing another life than what they allready know, and what they know is school. Perhaps if we look at the columbine boys, we'll see that they got to a point where relieving their stress on video games was no longer enough. They hated jocks and cheerleaders (upper class social elitests) because of their attitude and the hell they put them through. So they brought the video game to real life.
There are always many many factors in life that cause something to occur, and to point the finger at one specific thing is to be foolish. Feel free to spell check this for me.
I signed the e-mail as Beth, because men tend to regard women as being social experts, and will pay more attention to things if a female type says them... well ... not in the case of "Take out the trash," Or "When are you going to reshingle the roof," or, "Does this dress make me look fat?" Those things tend to not get listened to, but... you know what i mean right? *Cry*
|» Speech Speech!|
I've got to give a speech tommarrow about how I broke my jaw. I never really thought that, breaking my jaw would be the most pivotal moment in my life. That kind of depresses me. |
Well whats new? My G-ma died. My dog is a pain in the ass. I need a 3.5 gpa this semester to get into nursing. Lets hope I don't get a C.
I Rplayed with some friends this weekend and took some pictures.
Thats about it.
Go Panthers. And now a quote from Lilacor "This ones for grandma."
|» Take That!|
I got my first A in anatomy! hahahaha. Take that Ascending Aorta! Suck on that brachiophallic arteries!|
|» Hungry Hungry Hippos!|
Ok, like I was thinking. What are the hungry hungry hippos, and why are they so hungry? I mean, what is this stereotype that hippos have to be hungry. I was thinking that perhaps the creators of HHH the game, were secret african wildlife haters, but then again you don't see many smelly smelly zebra games do you? The thought is boggling my mind, and i can't seem to help wondering why the hell David Blaine would sit in a damn box for 44 days. Thats so dumb. How is that magic?|
Someone tell me! Roy getting eaten by his tiger, now thats magic. David Blaine you dissapoint me. Greatly and so do games like HHH. Shark attack was a much cooler game.
I remember one time i gave some kid shark attack for his birthday and someone else got him the same thing, so he gave the game to me. (we're talking like 9 years old here) Shark attack was the coolest, and then again, so was chutes and ladders.
Hey its not gay to think chutes, or was it shoots, (No i don't think there were many firearms in that game) and ladders is a great game.
Ah to think of the good old days...
